ShelterBox USA is a Rotary program that provides disaster relief shelters and supplies all around the world.

Many of our clubs support this program and have for many years because we know their impact is vital in times of war, displacement and natural disasters. They are about to celebrate 25 years of this amazing work and we have two messages to share on this milestone!

First, CNY Rotary is seeking a member or team of members who are passionate about ShelterBox to represent the program locally. The role comes with access to education and training, and an actual ShelterBox kit that you could keep on hand. You would be asked to give programs to our local clubs, be present at learning events, and really just be the ambassador(s) for their message in our region. You would be a valuable resource to an impactful program that's serving people on an international scale. If this position is of interest, please contact us today!

The second part of our message is an invitation from ShelterBox to all members for their “ShelterBox All-Hands Rotary Roundup”, on Wednesday August 28th at 12 pm PT / 3 pm ET via Zoom.

This 30-minute session will focus on the power of their partnership with Rotary and will feature ShelterBox USA President, Kerri Murray, a member of the Rotary Club of Montecito, Ca. and ShelterBox Response Team member, Brian Glenn, from the Rotary Club of Denton-Lake Cities, Texas.

Kerri and Brian will outline how Rotarians fill integral roles throughout the disaster response process. They will focus on the collaborative efforts of ShelterBox and Rotary in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Morocco. There will also be updates on disaster relief efforts in the Caribbean and elsewhere.

From fundraising and networking to field support, their mission relies heavily on the dedication of Rotary members from all over the world. We hope you will join them to learn about the partnership and how you can be involved.

Please share this invitation widely.
