Join us for a free learning opportunity open to all members, but designed for incoming club leaders. Learning Assembly will take place after Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) in the morning. We will start with lunch and then learn from the expertise of our CNY Rotary leadership team, with plenty of opportunities to connect with other volunteer leaders from across the region.

Come for a half day of learning to help you prepare to lead your club in 2026-27, you can even start your day early with Rotary Learning Institute (RLI).
 
This years event will be at Johnson City High School.
 
Courses will include specialized training for secretaries and treasurers, as well as breakout sessions on Membership, Foundation, DEI, Public Image, Youth and more. See details below.
 
Lunch is included.
 
This event is free to attend, but costs CNY money for each person included in our final headcount.

Breakout Session I

Our Rotary Foundation 101
In this session, some of our sub-committee chairs will present on The Rotary Foundation. We will feature District Grants, Global Grants, Polio Plus, Peace Initiatives and Disaster Response Grants. 
Membership & Types of Clubs
Growing our membership by diversifying how people can join our clubs and starting new clubs across CNY.
Social Media 101: Beginner
A review of the basics of using social media for Rotary Clubs, including what platforms to use, what to post, how often to post, and what tools you can use to do it easily.
Club Secretary Training
This session will review best practices for Club Secretaries, covering the general responsibilities, and providing interactive time for questions and discussion among attendees who have experience in the role.
Club Treasurer Training
This session will review best practices for Club Treasurers, covering the general responsibilities, and providing interactive time for questions and discussion among attendees who have experience in the role.

Polio Plus
End Polio Now Coordinator Randy Wilson will comment on the past, present and future of our Polio Plus program and eradication efforts.
The Heart of Rotary: Your Voice Matters, The Art of Listening
Join the CNY Membership Committee to explore how we can better listen to our members to improve the club experience, member engagement, and ultimately membership retention.
Social Media 201: Advanced
Come see a live example of how to create graphics for a series of organic posts designed as a campaign, using techniques that will save you time and energy, as well as how to do paid campaigns on Meta.
The Rotary Learning Center: How To
The Learning Center is an amazing resource for any member, whether in leadership or not, and we’ll help you find your way around the many learning opportunities it provides.
Grace in Action: Bias, Bullying & the Power of Positive Peace Conversations
Participants will learn that bias is something we ALL have, and adult bullying is very real. The session will include a conversation to help you address conflict and bias without shame or silence, using grace-based dialogue.

Foundation Grants: Best Practices
The focus of this session is to alert Rotarians to the best ways to qualify for District and Global Grants, the best ways to ensure they receive their reimbursement payments, and the importance of interim reports.
Growing Rotary: What We Plant, How We Tend & Who Thrives in our Rotary Garden
Strong clubs don’t grow by chance; they grow because someone intentionally prepares the soil. So, let’s get our hands dirty and talk about how to sow so we can grow!

Rotary Youth Services
Get overviews of our Youth Exchange and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) programs – how to get young people from your community involved and how to volunteer with these fun and impactful programs.
Rotary Service: Assessing Community Needs
Participants will discuss how to determine the needs for a service project, the qualities of a good service project, how their clubs can best meet the needs of their communities, and effective strategies and best practices for creating and leading successful service projects with their clubs. Let’s make a lasting impact!
