The Rotary Club of Utica’s third annual ’Service Above Self’ Gala, held in June, raised $12,432.76.

The club donated the proceeds to the Resource Center for Independent Living’s Many Hearts program, which provides a series of art events designed to afford older adults and their caregivers the opportunity to spend time engaged in activities like painting and drum circles in a safe, accessible, and supportive environment.

“Utica Rotary was proud to support this incredible cause,” said Past President and Gala Committee Chairman Stephen Turnbull. “Our third annual Gala was a great success, thanks to the support of our amazing sponsors and friends in attendance. We can’t wait for next year!”

The gala, in addition to benefitting a different cause each year, also recognized two Utica Rotarians and members of the local community who demonstrate the mantra ‘service above self.'
