Mark your calendar to be in Trumansburg on Saturday, May 9, as there will be a village-wide yard sale and the very fun Trumansburg Rotary rubber duck race along Taughannock Creek in the heart of downtown.

Fifteen hundred ducks enter the water at 1 p.m. from the bridge over Route 227 (near the Farmers Market), and the first ducks reaching the finish line just past the bridge at Route 96 (near Creekside Cafe and Gimme! Coffee) will win these prizes: 1st place, $250; 2nd place, $150; and 3rd place, $50. This year, thanks to two generous local merchants, the 4th- and 5th-place ducks will, respectively, receive $25 gift certificates from Creekside Cafe and Gimme! Coffee.

Thanks to the community-minded Ravi Meel and his staff, tickets can be purchased at the Trumansburg Shur-Save most weekends from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and on the morning of race day at the Route 96 bridge near Gimme! Coffee (across the street from Creekside Cafe).

This year, Ithaca UKEs will perform ukulele sing-alongs at the Route 96 bridge before the ducks reach the finish line. Kids of all ages will have loads of fun, so be there!
