Need Ideas?
- Plant Trees
- Learn from experienced clubs like Marcellus, Tully, New Hartford, and Glens Falls Rotary.
- Purchase affordable seedlings through the NYS DEC Seedling Sale (ends May 14).
- Support the NYS goal to plant 25 million trees by reporting your plantings here.
- Write Cards to Seniors or Veterans
- Reach out to senior care centers, rehab facilities, or VA hospitals to send encouraging notes. This time of year, they may receive fewer messages — making your effort even more impactful.
- Organize a Community Clean-Up
- Spring brings litter. Help clean up local parks or public spaces. Gloves, garbage bags, and visibility vests are all you need. Don’t forget to wear your Rotary gear!
- Yardwork for Seniors
- Bring a rake, trimmer, and a helping hand to local seniors who may struggle with early-season yard prep. A one-hour visit can go a long way.
You don’t have to plan it all yourself! Team up with other local Rotary clubs, non-profits, school groups, PTAs, garden clubs, and community organizers and provide the volunteers they need to succeed.
Submit to the CNY Rotary Service Database
The CNY Rotary Service Committee has created a new Rotary Service Database — and your contributions will help everyone!
Please fill out this simple form for each of your club’s service projects, including what you’ll be doing on May 17.
By sharing your work, you’ll help others find inspiration, avoid reinventing the wheel, and build stronger community ties.
Report and Promote for Maximum Impact
Your project counts, but it also needs to be seen to make the most of this opportunity.
Report your project through the official site or at least the CNY Rotary Service Database.
Promote it locally through media, flyers, and social media
Wear Rotary gear proudly to boost visibility
Share updates on social media using Epic Day of Service hashtags and tags
Together, we’ll make a bigger, more visible difference than ever before.
