For the second straight year, Schenectady Rotary Club is seeking donations of gently used or newly purchased Halloween costumes to distribute to students at William C. Keane Elementary School and their family members. Donated costumes will be offered for FREE on a first-come, first-served basis at the Schenectady Rotary Club tent during Keane’s ‘Trunk or Treat’ event, taking place Saturday, October 26 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at 1252 Albany Street in Schenectady.

“We invite community members to search through their closets to find costumes that are no longer being used to help ensure a frighteningly good Halloween for Keane students,” said Jess Hughes, a Schenectady Rotary Club member and main coordinator of the club’s participation in ‘Trunk or Treat.’  She added, “We would also greatly appreciate the donation of new costumes. Keep in mind that Keane Elementary serves students from pre-K to 5th grade, and kids in that range come in all sizes. Also, students may have older siblings or parents that could benefit from adult-sized costumes so they can enjoy Halloween with their younger ghouls and goblins.”

The event will feature food, music, community tables, and Trick or Treating for candy in the school parking lot. In addition to costumes, Schenectady Rotary’s tent will offer free candy and glitter tattoos.
