It is with great sadness that the Syracuse Inner City Rotary announces the passing of its founder and past president, Theardis Martino.
In 2001, Theardis began the vision of creating a Rotary club dedicated to serving Syracuse’s inner-city communities. With support from the Syracuse Sunrise Rotary Club and past District Governor Joe McCarthy, the Syracuse Inner City Rotary Club was officially chartered on February 23, 2003. His vision continues today through members committed to service and community impact.
Theardis will be remembered as a dedicated leader, mentor, businessman, family man, and friend. His legacy lives on in all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Bethany Baptist Church, 149 Beattie Street, Syracuse, NY. Calling hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon prior to the service.
