CNY Rotary is deeply saddened to share news of the the passing of Past District Governor Peter Brellochs, a beloved member of the Ithaca Sunrise Rotary Club. He passed away on July 2, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born in Stuttgart, Germany, Peter immigrated to the United States in 1954, beginning his journey as a farmhand in Jeffersonville, NY. He graduated from Jeffersonville High School and went on to earn a degree in Architecture from Cornell University (Class of 1959). He proudly served his adopted country in the U.S. Army before embarking on a distinguished architectural career, becoming a partner at Thomas Associates in Ithaca.
A devoted Rotarian, Peter exemplified Rotary’s spirit of service above self. He contributed immensely to both his local club and Rotary District 7170, offering steadfast leadership and mentorship over the years. Beyond Rotary, Peter served his community on the Dryden Zoning Board of Appeals and with the Tompkins County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
