The Oswego Rotary Club honored five graduating seniors from the Oswego City School District with scholarships recognizing both academic excellence and community service.

These awards, supported by the Richard S. Shineman Foundation and Pathfinder Bank, include the Richard S. Shineman Oswego Rotary Scholarship, awarded to Hailey Barbera for her academic standing and active volunteering. Margaret O’Leary received the Charles E. Riley Scholarship for her extensive involvement in music, athletics, and student leadership. Gavin Ruggio earned the Ralph & Dorothy Faust Scholarship due to his strong performance in sports, academics, and community service, including officiating hockey and volunteering with local organizations.

Alexis Galvin was selected for the Anthony J. Murabito Scholarship thanks to her academic achievement and dedication to dance and assisting in her family's chiropractic office. The Ruth N. Mulford Career and Technical Education Award went to Lilly Allison, who excelled in the New Vision Specialized Careers program and volunteered in various local initiatives. Each scholarship reflects the Rotary Club’s long-standing mission to support youth and promote service, dating back to their initial charitable efforts in 1927. Funding is raised through dues, donations, and events such as the Top 100 Ceremony, with an endowment ensuring the program’s sustainability. This year’s scholarship committee included Selma Sheridan, Sabine Ingerson, Terrence Gorman, and Vernon Tryon.
