On January 22, Oneonta Rotarians reached out to area residents by writing messages of good cheer in Valentine’s Cards for seniors residing at Chestnut Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and A.O. Fox Memorial Nursing Center as well as notes of gratitude to the staff who provide support and care for the residents of both places.
On February 12, Project Coordinator Meghan Sheehy delivered the over 400 completed cards to Chestnut Park and A.O. Fox Memorial in time for them to reach residents and staff for Valentine’s Day. Smiles were wide, spirits were high, and the good energy of Service Above Self warmed a frosty January day!
Also, on February 13, Oneonta Rotary’s 4th Annual Wine Tasting at Social Eats Café-Project 607 was a smashing success selling out completely and raising $1,250 to support the work of the Oneonta Rotary Club. Social Eats Café was filled to the brim as host Michelle Iannelli-Rubin, sommelier Michael Dalton, and project chair Meghan Sheehy led novices and connoisseurs alike through five delightful pairings of wine and food.
To round out the month of February, the Oneonta Rotary Fund presented its annual report to the club detailing over $21,000 in grants and scholarships to community groups and individuals.
