The Colonie-Guilderland Rotary Club has organized a multi-club event to build beds for children in need in the Capital Region. The clubs will be volunteering to help the bed organization Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) to provide hand-made beds, and volunteers are invited to join the effort!

Colonie-Guilderland and Twin Bridges Rotary Clubs will be coming together for the day-longm hands-on event. The two clubs have held fundraisers over the past year to fund the beds. Together, they will be making at least 40-beds for local children.

The day’s work starts with the stacking of lumber. Volunteers will then cut, sand, stain and brand the lumber to make the bed components for the SHP inventory stored in Mechanicville.

The build event will be from 9am to approximately 2pm on Saturday, June 7 in the lot at Grassland Equipment, 892 Troy-Schenectady Road, Latham, NY 12110.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: You will be working with SHP's team who will support you at the various build stations. Stations will include sanding, drilling, parts assembly, staining and branding. There are two shifts needing volunteers 9:00 - 12:00 and 12:00 - 2:00.
