July has flown by, and I've been inspired by the clubs I visited this month. Each week, I am posting a People of Action update on our District Facebook Page (facebook.com/RotaryDistrict7170/) highlighting how each club is making a difference in our District and the world. Like or follow our Facebook Page to stay up-to-date on District happenings.

August is Membership Development month, so we've posted tips in this newsletter and on our homepage for holding Open Houses or New Member Mixers. Having Open Houses has helped clubs in our District attract and retain new members.

On the Foundation side of things, the Corporate Donation toolkit is now live. Many local (and national businesses with a local presence) are looking for ways to give back. The Rotary Foundation is not only one of the highest rated foundations in terms of stewardship, but funds donated come back to our District to support local grants. Find out more about whether your employer participates, or how to encourage corporate giving in your area.

I hope that you enjoy the video greeting that Rik and I put together for August. In it, we're talking up t-shirt and tree peony sales, and Wil Buttner's walk to end polio (I think I may say the wrong dollar($) amount per mile in the video...I'm trying to keep you on your toes.) Order forms and more information are linked to in this newsletter and on the homepage.

All the best,
DG Zoƫ
