Fulton Sunrise Rotarians recently put colorful decorations on bags that they then filled with food. Those bags, called Blizzard Bags, will be distributed by Oswego County Opportunities staff to homebound seniors in its home-delivered food program.
The shelf-stable food can be saved for days when poor weather can make deliveries difficult. Rotarians also put a cheerful note inside each bag to brighten the recipient’s day. Rotarians Ellen Pierce, left, Mary Farfaglia and Doug Stevens delivered the bags to OCO’s Mexico facility. Blizzard bags are delivered throughout the winter and anyone interested in donating to the effort should contact OCO’s Nutrition Services at (315) 598-4712.
Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7 a.m. at Mimi’s Drive-In and can be followed at https://www.facebook.com/fultonsunriserotaryclub/.
