As we begin 2025, we begin with hope and passion for a polio free world. While 2024 may have seemed a set-back ending with 92 cases  and a number of vaccine delivery challenges, it served as a great reminder that we must be aggressive in our eradication efforts.

The Power of Each Rotary District
Many Thanks to President & DG Lizzy Martin and our District 7180 Foundation Committee for fulfilling the annual pledge to transfer 20% of unallocated District Directed Funds (DDF) to the PolioPlus Fund at the Rotary Foundation.   This transfer was done in late December, and D7180 is again at the lead of the nine Districts in our Zone 32 by being one of only two Districts to make this transfer before the midpoint of this Rotary year!

The Power of Each Individual
Each of us, no matter where we come from, has a role to play in this fight. If we have learned anything from Rotary’s journey, it is that no action is too small. A dollar, a volunteer hour, a message of support—each contributes to the larger goal.

As Rotarians, we stand united in the belief that a polio-free world is within reach. We are a movement that has always embraced the values of service, of compassion, and of commitment to making the world a better place for future

Let us remember that the fight against polio is a fight for children—for every child who deserves the chance to grow, to play, to learn, and to thrive. It is a fight for equity, for a world where healthcare is not a privilege for the few but a right for all. And it is a fight for hope, for the belief that together, we can achieve the impossible.

Rotary’s legacy in the fight against polio is not just in the millions of children vaccinated or the billions of dollars raised. It is in the people—the Rotarians, the volunteers, the health workers, and the global partners who have dedicated their lives to this cause. And while we have made extraordinary progress, the job is not done. We must continue until the very last case of polio is gone, and every child is protected.
