For as long as anyone can remember, the Edmeston Rotary Club has held an annual Halloween party for our area children.
The school gymnasium provides a safe space for the children to enjoy crafts, games, and a haunted house created and staffed by the current year’s sophomore class. The mood is set by the Halloween music played over the P.A. system, and the Rotary club provides free apple cider and donuts to everyone throughout the evening.
The highlight of the evening is the judging of costumes in age groupings from babies to adults. As the contestants parade around the gym, a panel of judges - usually including our current inbound Rotary Youth Exchange student - select the winners and award prizes. The uniqueness and creativity of the costumes always delights both the children and the adults in attendance.
