The Rotary Club of Baldwinsville is inviting community members to come together for Unite for Good 2026, an evening celebrating local environmental initiatives while raising funds to support Rotary International’s global effort to eradicate polio.
The event will take place Tuesday, October 20, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at WT Brews Baldwinsville, located at 18 East Genesee Street in Baldwinsville (behind B'ville Diner).
This year’s Unite for Good theme is supporting the environment, one of Rotary’s global areas of focus. The evening will showcase some of the people and organizations working to make a positive difference in the local community and give residents an opportunity to learn more about how they can get involved.
The event will feature live music by Larry Kyle, craft beer from WT Brews, food from Moonchot’s Authentic Thai Cuisine food truck, a crocus bulb sale, local artisans including Tara’s Confections and Sun & Hive Honey, the Women’s Garden Club of Baldwinsville, two polio survivors to speak with directly, the Baldwinsville Public Library, Baldwinsville Interfaith Council, and trivia with prizes.
“This evening is all about coming together in the spirit of fun and community to learn about some of the great work happening right here in our corner of the world,” said Nicole McManus, president of the Rotary Club of Baldwinsville. “There are so many ways that individuals, businesses and community organizations can make a difference when it comes to the environment, our theme this year, and we hope Unite for Good will help connect people with those opportunities.”
Admission is $10 per person and includes one beverage, with proceeds benefiting Rotary International’s Global Polio Eradication Initiative. Rotary has been working for decades with its partners to eliminate polio worldwide. Funds raised through Unite for Good help support that ongoing effort as part of the Baldwinsville Rotary Club’s annual observance surrounding World Polio Day (October 24), while highlighting the many ways Rotary members and community partners put “Service Above Self” into action.
Tying together polio awareness and the environmental theme is the new crocus bulb sale. Just $10 for ten bulbs that you can plant now for early blooms next spring. As some of the first flowers when the weather warms, they are a great resource for our pollinator friends, and they will probably bring a smile to your face after a long winter. In Rotary's efforts for polio eradication, babies have their pinkies dyed purple after receiving their life-saving vaccinations, and these purple flowers can serve as a reminder of the importance of vaccinating every baby.
The Baldwinsville Rotary Club has a long history of supporting local and international causes through community service and fundraising. Locally, the club supports programs including its Backpack Program for students experiencing food insecurity, scholarships, environmental projects, senior programs and other community initiatives.
Community members are encouraged to attend, bring friends and family, and discover how they can unite for good in Baldwinsville and beyond.
