From April 1 through April 11, 2026, Central New York Rotary members and supporters will unite for a powerful cause through the “Red to Toe” campaign, an initiative aimed at accelerating progress toward the global eradication of polio while empowering members in their philanthropic journeys.
At the heart of this campaign is a unique opportunity to give and grow impact. During this limited-time “April Cools” initiative, every $100 donated to The Rotary Foundation’s PolioPlus Fund will earn donors 100 matching Foundation recognition points, with a maximum match of 500 points.
These matching points provide a meaningful incentive for both new and longtime Rotary members. For those working toward the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow designation, or advancing to the next recognition level, this campaign offers a faster, more accessible path. Because Foundation points function like cash, they can significantly reduce the amount needed out-of-pocket to reach recognition milestones.
The campaign also reinforces Rotary’s unwavering commitment to its #1 worldwide priority: eradicating polio. Every contribution goes even further thanks to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which matches all cash donations 2-to-1—tripling the impact of every dollar given.
To put the benefits into perspective, a donor who is $500 away from achieving Paul Harris Fellow status can contribute just $250. That donation is matched with 250 Foundation points, helping them reach the 1,000-point threshold required for recognition.
Understanding Foundation Recognition Points
Foundation recognition points are awarded for contributions to key Rotary initiatives, including the Annual Fund, Disaster Response Fund, PolioPlus Fund, and Global Grants. Donors receive one point for every U.S. dollar contributed. These points are flexible and can even be transferred to others—making them a meaningful way to honor family members, fellow Rotarians, or community leaders.

Making a contribution is simple. Donors can give online by visiting Rotary.org and selecting the “Donate” option, or by mailing a check directly to:
